{"id":127,"date":"2019-07-08T16:09:44","date_gmt":"2019-07-08T20:09:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife-test\/?page_id=127"},"modified":"2026-03-17T16:23:04","modified_gmt":"2026-03-17T20:23:04","slug":"laurel-hall","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/laurel-hall\/","title":{"rendered":"Laurel Hall"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2>Laurel Hall Building Features<\/h2>\n<p>Laurel Hall shares the quad with\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/pine-hall\/\">Pine Hall<\/a>, and is near to the Scott Student Center,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ramapo.sodexomyway.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Birch Tree Inn and the\u00a0Atrium<\/a>.<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" wp-image-2357 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/327\/2023\/10\/laurel_floor-plan_updated-2023-192x300.png\" alt=\"Photo of Laurel Hall Floor plan\" width=\"235\" height=\"367\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/327\/2023\/10\/laurel_floor-plan_updated-2023-192x300.png 192w, https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/wp-content\/uploads\/sites\/327\/2023\/10\/laurel_floor-plan_updated-2023.png 500w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 235px) 100vw, 235px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Laurel Hall is a 432-bed suite-style residence that contains four single bedrooms, a bathroom with stall shower and a small common area.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The community space has a kitchenette-type unit with a sink, microwave and full-size refrigerator along with some storage space for food items; a small table with four chairs, a couch, club chair, coffee table, and TV cart.<\/li>\n<li>Each bedroom has an adjustable long twin bed that can be raised to captain\u2019s height, mattress, three-drawer chest, desk with movable pedestal drawer unit (can be used as a night table), task chair on casters, overhead bookcase storage unit (seven feet wide), tack board, and wardrobe with two doors (half hanging clothes and half shelves), desk and desk chair.<\/li>\n<li>Each bedroom door is accessed through student ID card for to the resident of the bedroom.<\/li>\n<li>Hall office on first floor.<\/li>\n<li>Screening room, kitchen for resident use, and game room on the first floor.<\/li>\n<li>Outdoor basketball and volleyball courts with picnic area and grills.<\/li>\n<li>First and second floor lounge space.<\/li>\n<li>Floors 2 through 6 are designated as dry (alcohol prohibited) regardless of age.<\/li>\n<li>Floors 7 and 8 are eligible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/reslife\/specialty-housing\/#s3\">alcohol allowed housing<\/a>. General recycling information can be viewed\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/facilities\/sustainability\/recycling\/\">here<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Alcohol Allowed Housing<\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<h2><b>Alcohol Allowed Housing\u00a0<\/b><\/h2>\n<p>Suites within The Village, within the 7th and 8th floors of Laurel Hall, and students enrolled in Graduate School may become Alcohol Allowed.<\/p>\n<p>Residents may become eligible for Alcohol Allowed Housing, beginning on the first day of classes for the semester, as per our\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/academic-calendars\/\">Academic Calendar<\/a>; pending they have complied with the application process.<\/p>\n<p>Alcohol is permitted in certain student housing only during the Fall and Spring semesters. Alcohol is not permitted in any student housing outside of the Fall and Spring semesters, including during Winter Term, Summer Housing, or any interim or break period, regardless of age, housing assignment, or any other consideration. Possession of alcoholic beverages or certain alcohol-related paraphernalia during these periods is prohibited and will be documented as an alcohol policy violation.<\/p>\n<p>Application process:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Each resident who is 21 must fill out the alcohol allowed agreement.<\/li>\n<li>Once the alcohol allowed agreement is filled out by all residents who are 21, the residents need to send an email to their hall office to confirm they have all filled out the form.<\/li>\n<li>The hall office will place an alcohol allowed agreement inside, next to the apartment door. It is the residents responsibility to ensure that this agreement is always visible in the allocated spot that it was placed.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Once the above requirements are met, our staff will review the request, and hang an official alcohol allowed sign on the inside of the suite. The agreement must be placed in the holder next to the suite door before alcohol can be present. Until this process is completed, the housing assignment is alcohol prohibited.
