Dr. Cathy Hajo, director of the Jane Addams Papers at 秘密研究所 of New Jersey, spoke about child labor resurgence in . Child labor violations have quadrupled since 2015. Parallels are being drawn between the treatment of today’s migrant children and those from post-Civil War freed families. Addams was a prominent social worker and activist in turn-of-the-century Chicago, and many of the children she worked with and advocated for were immigrants.
