MAHWAH, N.J. 鈥� 秘密研究所 student Alexis Tucker 鈥�20聽will be awarded the 2020 Diamond Service Leadership Award at the Enactus U.S. National Competition, being held virtually later this month.

Alexis, who has been a member of Ramapo鈥檚 Enactus team since her freshman year, will be recognized for completing more than 1,000 hours of service. Alexis also will be honored for completing her Project Management Certification, funded by Enactus, along with a Financial Literacy Credential from BNY Mellon, making her a BNY Mellon Enactus Fellow.

Assistant Professor of Management Tammi Redd in Ramapo鈥檚 Anisfield School of Business advises the College鈥檚 Enactus teams.

鈥淪ince her freshman year, Alexis has helped with Enactus projects such as helping to create the Bergen County Horse Rescue’s very first fundraiser, the creation of their logo and the placement of their first paid intern,鈥� said Redd. 鈥淪he also worked with other Ramapo Enactus students to build a solar panel for the horse rescue.鈥�

Redd added that during her junior year, Alexis took on the responsibility as project leader in initiating a new recycle program on the College campus. The Enactus team created a system for recycling k-cups and upcycling the used coffee grounds by creating handmade charcoal briquettes for grilling.聽For their efforts, the team received the聽Unilever Bright Future Grant聽for sustainable innovation, with Alexis securing聽retail space聽to sell Enactus’ hand-made charcoal briquettes at the Unilever Company Store in Englewood, N.J.

鈥淎lexis is the perfect example of being business-minded and service-guided,鈥� Redd said.

A recipient of the 2020 RCNJ Outstanding Leadership by a Senior Award sponsored by Ramapo鈥檚 Civic & Community Engagement Center, Alexis has accepted a position with the marketing department at Dynamic Engineering in Chester, N.J.
