They generally include examples of students&#8217; skills and achievements, and help to track students&#8217; progress through their academic programs by organizing coursework, projects, personal reflections, and other materials. These virtual professional profiles are becoming increasingly popular among\u00a0academics and professionals because of the ease with which they\u00a0allow potential employers\u00a0to learn more about who you are and what you have to offer!<\/p>\n<p>In general, an\u00a0ePortfolio should\u00a0achieve the following:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>provide evidence of student&#8217;s\u00a0language skill and various competencies<\/li>\n<li>connect student&#8217;s\u00a0work with national certifications\/standards (i.e. ACTFL\/NCATE, INTASC, etc)<\/li>\n<li>communicate student&#8217;s\u00a0beliefs and attitudes as they are relevant to studies<\/li>\n<li>provide student with opportunities to share their own reflections on the\u00a0learning processes and their own personal growth<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #003366\"><strong>What to include in your\u00a0ePortfolio?<\/strong><\/span><\/h3>\n<p>Although what you choose to include in your ePortfolio\u00a0 is ultimately up to you, Spanish Language Majors&#8217;\u00a0ePortfolios should include the following components:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A personal objectives statement, or a statement of career goals<\/li>\n<li>A resume and\/or cover letter<\/li>\n<li>Samples of best coursework, including cross-disciplinary work if earning\u00a0a second major or minor<\/li>\n<li>Formal and informal language assessments<\/li>\n<li>Self-evaluations<\/li>\n<li>Cultural components<\/li>\n<li>Journal of learning and experiencial professes<\/li>\n<li>Samples of language performance (video and audio), along with a reflective statement about each sample provided<\/li>\n<li>Experiential Component (i.e. Study Abroad or Co-op\/Internships) that includes a description of the program and work\/study\/objectives; a letter from a\u00a0supervisor; documentation of hours of service; relevant interviews; photos, videos, and recordings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>For those Spanish Language Studies students who are focusing on teacher education, ePortfolios should include the following sections:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Philosophy of Education<\/li>\n<li>Cultures, Literature, Cross-Disciplinary Concepts<\/li>\n<li>Language Acquisition Theories, Instruction<\/li>\n<li>Integration of Standards\/Curriculum and Instruction (i.e. unit and lesson plans, etc.)<\/li>\n<li>Assessment Practices\/Impact on Student Learning<\/li>\n<li>Communication and Technology Integration<\/li>\n<li>Professionalism<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3><span style=\"color: #003366\">\u00a0When you&#8217;re ready, click here to <\/span><a title=\"Get started\" href=\"https:\/\/www.ramapo.edu\/major-spanish\/getting-started\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;color: #333399\">Start Creating<\/span><\/a>\u00a0<span style=\"color: #003366\">your very own!<\/span><\/h3>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>What is an ePortfolio?
