She loved her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.<\/p>\n
She devoted time to volunteering at the New York Foundling Hospital and other causes.<\/p>\n
She loved to entertain family and friends and was a partner \/copilot with her husband, George, who was an accomplished aviator. Together they traveled around the United States and the Caribbean.<\/p>\n
Sophie passed one day short of her 101st birthday.<\/p>\n
