Cooperative Education integrates academic learning with faculty supervised work experiences in both public and private sectors.<\/p>\n<p><strong>INTERNSHIPS:<\/strong> An internship is defined as a pre-professional hands-on experience in an area in which the student has achieved some measure of competence or interest.<\/p>\n<p><strong>FOR MORE INFORMATION ABOUT CO-OPS AND INTERNSHIPS IN LITERATURE, VISIT THE CAHILL CENTER (ROOM C 209) OR TALK TO YOUR LITERATURE ADVISOR.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h4 style=\"clear: both\"><strong>Students interested in a co-op or internship will need to prepare a r\u00e9sum\u00e9:<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>R\u00e9sum\u00e9s give prospective employers their most concrete impression of who you are, where you\u2019ve been, and how you will benefit their institution. Therefore, your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is a sort of surrogate for you, advocating for you in your absence. Your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 is the tool you will use to advocate for yourself.<br \/>\n<strong>As you write your r\u00e9sum\u00e9, consider the following concerns: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Tailor your r\u00e9sum\u00e9 to the type of position you are seeking.<\/li>\n<li>Emphasize what you consider your strengths and skills\u2013promote those assets you bring to the job.<\/li>\n<li>Focus on the specifics of your experience: itemize your skills-specify individual aspects of previous positions.
