Before beginning your certificate program, you&#8217;ll schedule an interview with the Program Director to assess whether any transitional coursework is needed to prepare for your three-course sequence.<\/p>\n<p>Transitional coursework typically consists of one or two undergraduate courses in computer programming and statistics, which can be completed as a non-matriculated student. These courses are regularly offered in Spring, Fall, and Summer sessions, allowing you to begin your certificate program quickly.<\/p>\n<p>In some cases, certain elective courses have prerequisites that may be waived by the Program Director based on your work experience and demonstrated skills. This flexibility recognizes that returning working professionals often possess the necessary competencies through their professional experience.<\/p>\n<h2>Building Toward Your Master&#8217;s Degree<\/h2>\n<p>The certificate programs are strategically designed to stack toward graduate degrees. Students who complete all three certificates will have completed 27 of the 30 credits required for the MS in Data Science.
