Deborah Visconi is a highly accomplished executive with more than 30 years of success in providing strategic direction, vision, leadership, and oversight of operations in hospitals and healthcare systems across the metropolitan region.

A visionary thinker with a strong passion for the patient experience, Deb leads with a focus on compassion, consistency, and quality. Her entrepreneurial style allows her to navigate highly complex environments challenged by limited resources, intensively competitive and diverse markets, and heavy regulation, which has established her as an industry thought leader.

Due to her remarkable career, she was identified and selected to be the champion leader tasked to transition New Jersey’s largest hospital from its former for-profit management model to a new, non-profit community asset now known as Bergen New Bridge Medical Center.

As a Latinx hospital leader, Deb understands the unique issues and needs of underserved and minority communities, which she has prioritized in the hospital’s community health needs assessment process and its ongoing outreach efforts. In 2018, Bergen New Bridge became a Veterans Community Care Provider to increase access to care to the 40,000 Bergen County veterans.

With Deb’s organizational and strategic planning expertise, Bergen New Bridge has expanded programs, services, and enhanced provider relations yielding improvement in quality, safety, and the patient/resident experience. In 2021, the Medical Center was recognized as a ‘Top Hospital’ and earning the highest ‘Grade A’ safety rating from the Leapfrog Group. The Joint Commission recognized the Medical Center for disease-specific certification in depression care. Deb also pioneered technology initiatives which led Bergen New Bridge to be the first hospital in the state to connect to the New Jersey Health Information Network (NJHIN).

Since the onset of the pandemic, Deb has led COVID-19 initiatives including testing, vaccination, and therapeutics. Consistent with her commitment to healthcare outreach and education, Deb collaborates with the County to launch programs that deliver care onsite, directly and via telehealth to thousands in the community.
