<\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span> How do I schedule an appointment?<\/p> For individual counseling, contact us by phone at 201-684-7522 or stop by our office in room D-216.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n <\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span> Are appointments in-person or via telehealth?<\/p> Counseling appointments will be conducted in person or via telehealth using a secure platform that will allow audio\/video communication between students and counselors.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n <\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span> What are your hours?<\/p> Counseling Services are available from 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday during the Fall and Spring semesters. During the summer, Counseling Services are available 8:00 a.m. to 5:15 p.m. Monday through Thursday (closed on Friday). If you are experiencing a mental health emergency after hours, call the main number (201-684-7522) and press 2 for immediate assistance. Emergency counseling is available 24\/7 at 201-684-7522.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n <\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span> Do I have to have a serious psychological problem to come to counseling services?<\/p> No. Students come to discuss a wide range of issues. Some have more serious psychological difficulties. Students are encouraged to come in to discuss any type of concern \u2013 roommate difficulties, loneliness, lack of self-confidence, procrastination, sexual orientation and gender identity concerns, grief, and cultural\/ethnic issues, among others.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n <\/i><\/i><\/i><\/span> Will anyone be told that I have come to counseling services?<\/p> No. Counseling Services has a strict confidentiality policy and will not release information regarding contact with a student without permission from the student except in a serious psychiatric emergency.
