The ability to obtain, analyze and synthesize large amounts of data is key to most research in both the natural sciences and the social sciences. The Statistics minor is designed to <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">encourage students studying in another discipline to gain a deeper understanding of statistics. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The program will also prepare students for graduate school and careers in industrial statistics, actuarial science, biostatistics, and research.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\"><span class=\"fa-stack\"><i class=\"fa fa-circle fa-stack-2x\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-down fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><i class=\"fa fa-chevron-up fa-stack-1x fa-inverse\"><\/i><\/span>Requirements of the Minor <\/div><div class=\"c_content\">\n<ol>\n<li>Students are required to take 4 courses<\/li>\n<li>Courses fulfilling the requirements for the primary or second major may count towards the requirements of the minor, but may not exceed one-half of the credits required in the minor. A School core does not need to be completed for a minor.\u00a0 Minors are open to students regardless of school affiliation.<\/li>\n<li>Not all courses are offered each semester.
