Students work with questions and methods from many disciplines, focusing on the meaning of femininity and masculinity as social categories and as they intersect with race, class, sexual orientation, and other pertinent social divisions. Students will also become acquainted with feminist theories and the history of feminism in the U.S. and worldwide.\u00a0 Courses in Women and Gender Studies are settings which enable students to formulate educational and career objectives based on a clearer sense of their social world, their own strengths, and their special values. The minor is a logical component of a student\u2019s preparation for a career in law, business, public health, the social services, and teaching.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<div class=\"collapsableContent\" tabindex=\"0\" type=\"button\"><div class=\"collapsableTitle\">Requirements of the Minor<\/div>\n<ol>\n<li>At least 1\/2 of the courses fulfilling a minor must be distinct from the student\u2019s major. That is, three of the five courses required for a minor cannot be used towards fulfillment of major requirements. A school core does not need to be completed for a minor.
